Back to the Farm.

bfarm (6 of 9)

Last weekend, something I’ve been wanting to happen for a long time did: I took Mike and Gabe to see the farm I spent a week at last summer.

My friend Laura (hi Laura!) who lives there asked us at the beginning of the weekend what our hopes and dreams were for the weekend. Mine? Relaxing and letting Gabe see animals.

I did get some beloved hammock time (albeit a little chilly), but perhaps the best part was all the NOTHING we did. Lots of sitting around chatting, reading, and just being.

Also, this:

Yep. Gabe had the time of his life and a new best friend – a three-year-old girl who lives on the farm. He told me she misses him and that he should go back to the farmhouse. True love.

They fed donkeys apples:

And held hands all day long:

Oh, and animals? Gabe got to hang out with a dog, cat, chickens, horse, donkeys, and cows.

He even got to get an egg out of the henhouse! (I think that’s what it’s called?)

It was a wonderful, rejuvenating weekend with old and new friends on the top of a mountain in a West Virginia. I love that I got to share such a special place with the most special people in my life!

OMG I am dying over the pictures of Gabe holding hands. So cute.

What farm is that? Is it open to the public? I live near WV now and it sounds really fun.

When I was looking at the pictures in this post I was thinking to myself, “Hey, that looks like West Virginia!” It’s been my home for a few years now and it is a beauty of a state.
    Sounds like an amazing weekend:)

The farm is where Ellen and I reconnected. It’s funny thinking that she and I walked around that land falling in love again. It’s a special place.

I love this farm, too. It has been far too long since I visited. I still go there in my mind when I need to escape to a mountain looking over a garden and farm animals…..
