[June Update]

Run MORE. I didn’t run MORE (the same amount), but I did do more cardio (walking and cycling). Being active makes me a happier person, I swear. I hope to maintain this until it’s cold!

Go strawberry picking. Check! Also, it was way more work than blueberries or raspberries. Gabe was tired after about 5 minutes of it. But! We did it!

Photograph a wedding. Yep. I totally told you about it. And then it’s been pinned a few times and I felt Legit. With a capital L.

Work on Little Leaf website for eight hours. I spent 22 hours on my relaunch in June. So. CHECK. Man. It’s like the never ending project.

[July Intentions]

Continue our Sunday Adventures. Our summer work schedule has one of us working till 5pm every day except Sunday, so we’ve been taking Sundays to go on family adventures – bike riding and a train ride last weekend and ice cream and a waterfall this weekend. It keeps me from feeling like I’m working too much or like we’re not doing enough fun stuff as a family. Plus, it’s local fun, so we spend more time getting to know where we live and it helps delay the wanderlust I tend to get when it’s too long between trips. And it’s the middle of summer. Now is the time to savor it!

No more sugar in my coffee. I usually put a teaspoon of sugar in my morning coffee, but lately I’ve been drinking it without and it’s…still good. Huh. (Until I need to reheat it. Sugar masks the icky reheated taste.) So, I’m going to make a conscious decision to cut it out totally. I still use cream, because I love it. And it neutralizes the acid so it won’t stain my teeth. Viva la cream!

Stop biting nails. In other small steps goals, THIS. I’m so bad about biting my nails. Or picking at my brittle-from-nail-polish nails. Sigh.

Launch the brand new Little Leaf. I am totally excited to share my new site and look with you guys. I’ve been working on it since…February. OMG. I am rehauling everything – from the about page to the packages to the portfolio to my contracts. I took a business ecourse and that really formed some of my movement forward with Little Leaf. I’ve never felt more excited or more clear on where I’m going with this.

The year is halfway over. Let’s do it!

Strawberry picking is easier than blueberry picking? Who would have thought! Since you said that, I’m definitely going to pick blueberries then :D!

Inspirational stuff Ashley. Picking berries is so much fun with kids, I used to love it when I lived in the UK.

Blueberries I find easier because you don’t have to crouch down so low to get them—and raspberries are easier because they come off the stem with no effort whatsoever. But what is really easy? PEACHES!

Sadly, our strawberry picking place must have had a bad growing season, because we never saw the sweet Pick Your Own signs go up at all. Bummer. And this was the one year I remembered to keep the basket to use. It’s still sitting dejectedly empty in my kitchen… (No worries! I got some berries at the farmers market, but bummed to not have gotten our own).
