Life Lately – More About Summer & Moving.

Filed Under: Motherhood, Personal & Life Updates 12 Comments

What a summer it’s been! It’s been full and hectic and wonderful and stressful all at once.

Theo turned one, the boys had a joint birthday party, Mike is getting his PhD this Saturday, we traveled to Toronto, and we’ve been married 8 years today.

Trying to soak up as much Ohio-ness as we can while we’re still here with family time, friend hang outs, hiking, and all our favorite foods.

We are self-professed minimalists, but somehow the piles of stuff around us keeps growing.

I didn’t take any time off work through all of this, so I’ve been cramming in emails between packing boxes, designing websites while riding in the car, and most mornings I can be found hunched over a computer at my local coffee shop.

I had my first breakdown the other night over moving, stay tuned for more to come. Feeling excited one minute, scared out of my mind the next.

We move out of our little apartment this Friday. We moved into this apartment over 5 years ago, two people just before their third wedding anniversary. I was commuting an hour and not designing websites. Mike was just starting his program.

We’re moving out as a family of four, two perfect little boys and eight years of marriage. I am in my dream job and Mike is going to be starting his soon.

Life! It’s here. It’s crazy. Whoa.

Congratulations on your 8 year wedding anniversary! I found your blog and started reading shortly before you announced your pregnancy with Gabe. It’s been so awesome to read about your journey, especially as someone who is also looking for my dream job and aspiring to lead a more minimalist lifestyle. Thanks for sharing your adventures, and good luck with the packing and moving!

Oh, it’s just so MUCH! I mean it’s all exciting but MAN is it overwhelming. Moving is HARD, emotionally. I have great faith that western Mass will treat you guys well! But all the complicated feelings about it are totally valid. I’m sorry it’s hard! Xoxo.

This post makes me happy! Summers are always SO much fun at the same time SO much stressful! We are relocating to India in 3 weeks and are cramming in everything you just said – friends hang outs, favorite foods, fave hangouts! So much so , we are doing hardly anything when it comes to packing. Just thinking about it stressing me out, so im gonna go have some iced coffee! :)
    Congrats on 8 years :)

Pictures paints a thousand words. This is what I exactly saw at this post of yours.

About breaking down, it’s pretty normal. So take time to rest and relax. It helps.

Happy anniversary! Your family is lovely! You had a wonderful summer! Me and my family also got many wonderful moments doing many many interesting things! Moving must be stressful but you will be alright, I am sure! You look like a happy family that will go through everything without a problem! I wish you a smooth move and all the best! :)
