Stuff My Husband Says

Filed Under: Personal & Life Updates 15 Comments

I am married to a hilarious man. Mike makes me laugh. All the time. It’s really good for your marriage if you laugh all time.

Me: “Start thinking about something we can make for people for Christmas.”
Mike: “…Like meth?”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Me: “I hope Tina Fey had an easier time breastfeeding. She was only able to for a few days last time.”
Mike: “Is weird that you know this? Yes.”
Me:“It was in her book!”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

“Excuse me! Hot stuff coming through! And also a pot of boiling water!”
 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Mike: “Are you cheating on me?”
Me: “No!”
Mike: “I’m too lazy to look into it, so if you are, can you just tell me?”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Me: “I know you think you want a girl, but you are SUCH a boy dad. You’re so playful. You’re like a big little boy!”
Mike: “I could be a big little girl!”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

(completely serious) “Jumping jacks give me headaches because the skin on my scalp is so elastic.”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I agree – laughter is the best thing for a marriage. My husband makes me laugh every day; mostly through songs he spontaneously makes up about our pets.

I love this. I should start writing down the funny things my husband says when he’s awake and not just when he’s asleep. :)

Cute, hah. Eric has really elastic head skin too, and he’s also not a fan of jumping jacks, but for different reasons. I’m just giggling over big little girl.

I used to write down funny crap JEremy said all the time, now I feel like he and I get lost in the shuffle of crazy stuff Owen says. I need to listen harder and remember more when he speaks. Thanks for the reminder.

Also I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you are discussing more bebes!!

So, is he funny on purpose or is this just the normal-to-him way he thinks? Either way, it sounds like you got a good ‘un. ;)

“Hot stuff coming through; a pot of hot water, too” … priceless! So, is Mike always funny and always funny with other people, too … or does he just save it for you? Sweets is kind of quiet around people he doesn’t know all that well (unlike me, he keeps the stupid stuff to himself), but once he’s comfortable around you, he also says the funniest stuff at the most surprising times. He always catches me off-guard, which means he keeps me on my toes (and I like that!).
